What is it used for?

Foam helps cool the fuel and form a surface blanket that limits flammable vapour release. Performance depends on the fuel and the tested foam formulation.

  • Rated Class A and B applications, with the actual liquid checked against the agent specification

What does it offer?

  • Cooling and vapour suppression on compatible fuels

Types and key differences

Selecting a formulation
Fluorine-free and other formulations are not interchangeable without review. Check environmental requirements, disposal and the manufacturer's listing.

What needs checking before selection?

  • Do not assume suitability for live electrical equipment, cooking oils or every solvent. Alcohols and other polar solvents can require a specifically rated alcohol-resistant foam.

Components and scope

  • Rated extinguisher and specified foam
  • Discharge nozzle and mounting
  • Fuel-compatibility and maintenance information

From survey to handover

  1. Survey the building and identify the hazard.
  2. Select compatible equipment and prepare the project design for the required review.
  3. Install, test and document the work; hand over operating information and a maintenance plan.

In Saudi Arabia, the design is reviewed against applicable Saudi Building Code requirements, including SBC 801, and the competent authority’s requirements. Capacity, quantities, coverage and testing follow the project design and manufacturer instructions. Safety licensing remains subject to the authority’s process through Salamah.
